A living philosophy of village life, learning, and family
The Sacred Oak Way is an invitation to live differently -
with more trust, more presence, and more shared life.
Children grow capable and connected.
Adults remain alive, creative, and grounded.
The village becomes the teacher.
Five Pillars of Sacred Oak
Five Pillars of Sacred Oak
The Way of the Child
Child-centered, personalized, and responsive learning where each child’s unique essence is honored.
Children explore, play, and grow through experiences that nurture curiosity, confidence, and creativity.
Conscious Adult Leadership
Adults honor their own journeys, taking responsibility for themselves, and gather in women’s and men’s circles, growing together in their capacity to hold space for themselves, one another, and children.
They model integrity, care, and guidance in the life of the village
Village & Shared Life
Restoring village living through intentional relationships, shared responsibility, and everyday life lived together.
Within the village, children participate in rites of passage and meaningful challenges that help them grow strong in mind, body, and spirit.
Creativity as a Way of Life
Creativity is woven into daily life as a natural expression for children and adults alike.
Play, imagination, and exploration are valued as essential ways of learning, connecting, and expressing the self.
Nature, Reciprocity & Stewardship
Living in right relationship with the Earth - learning from nature, caring for the land, and giving back to the web of life with gratitude and responsibility.
“Just as the acorn contains the mighty oak tree,
the Self has everything it needs to fulfill its destiny.”
— Wayne Dyer
Founding Season: Join Us in 2026
Founding Season: Join Us in 2026
Option 1: Join us in person in Costa Rica
Come for a period of 1 month or stay longer and join in the full experience.
Sacred Oak is beginning in person with a pilot season in Chirripó, Costa Rica, at the learning village hub called Wild Haven - a place of mountains, jungle, rivers, and real life. This first season is an invitation to grow alongside us as we bring The Sacred Oak Way into lived experience.
Come experience the magic of Chirripó with your family and take part in village life centered around Wild Haven.
Families live in nearby housing and can gather daily at the learning hub. Children experience responsive, personalized education rooted in real-life projects, creativity, and warriorship. Parents are supported through conscious parenting practices, shared responsibility, and meaningful connection with other families.
This is slow, relational living - learning, creating, eating, training, and growing together.

Option 2: Online: Begin at Home on January 31st.
Our One-Day Immersion is a shared orientation for parents who feel the old ways loosening - who are no longer willing to force learning, defend their choices, or second-guess what they sense is true.
It’s a day to pause, orient, and remember - in connection with others who share values.
A day to:
exhale and feel less alone
be seen and validated in choosing a different path - or quietly witness others who reflect your own questions
reconnect with trust in your child and yourself
learn how real learning actually unfolds through daily life
understand how to offer support and enrichment without forcing or controlling
find clear language and steadiness when the outside world says “But where’s the learning?”
return to greater harmony, confidence, and connection at home
Live online, with a recording included.

Through this way, sovereignty returns -within self, family, and village - so children grow secure in their right to be their authentic selves.
Children are trusted, supported, and challenged in ways that are developmentally appropriate and deeply human.
Families grow stronger.
Homes find rhythm.
Children thrive.
The Way of the Child
Child-Centered, Personalized & Responsive Education
Sacred Oak honors each child’s unique brilliance. Learning is personalized, responsive, and rooted in autonomy, real-life projects, and meaningful work. Children are supported in following their interests, igniting passion and purpose, and developing confidence and pride in their abilities.
Through both personalized and interdependent projects, children learn to trust themselves, build self-agency, advocate for their needs, and recognize their strengths. Each child’s gifts are celebrated and woven into shared work, allowing them to experience both independence and belonging.
Learning by Age
We don’t separate children by age - because real life isn’t segmented, and learning deepens through shared experience, mentorship, and belonging across ages.
At the same time, we are deeply developmentally aware, responding to children differently as their needs, capacities, and inner questions change.
Invitational and Rich Learning Environments
We are beginning to build our first rich learning environment in Chirripó in collaboration with Wild Haven - the physical space that holds and supports the children day to day. We are in the space of dreaming and building while we call in the right supports.
Every area will be intentionally designed as an invitation, not an instruction. The spaces themselves will support autonomy, regulation, creativity, and real-world skill building.
Rooted in global educational philosophies - Montessori, Reggio Emilia, Anji Play, Forest School, and land-based learning - we wish for our environments will be designed to offer children rich experiences, engaging materials, and meaningful mentorship.
We believe the space itself is a teacher. Children are trusted with real tools, real choice, and real responsibility, within environments that support autonomy, creativity, regulation, and deep learning.
